Ueno park is a popular location known for its zoo, park and temples right next to JR Ueno station. Many people go to Ueno park during Sakura season to see the Cherry blossoms with over 1000 trees in the park. Normally, people go to this park with a group of people (family or friends) to have a picnic known as “Hanami”. Unfortunately due to Coronavirus this year in 2022, big groups are not able to have Hanami celebrations, however people are allowed to enter the park to enjoy the cherry blossoms while walking or dining in one of the many restaurants and cafes in the park.
Inshou-tei is a traditional restaurant that serves a variety of Japanese foods such as Kaiseki and sukiyaki. For lunch (11:00-15:00), they have seasonal Kaiseki courses starting from 2,090JPY. For dinner (17:00-21:30), Sukiyaki starts from 5,500JPY and seasonal Kaiseki courses from 7,150JPY.

Kurofune-tei has a chef that specializes in French cuisines, but he makes western style foods that fit Japanese people. This western style dining bar has a variety of foods from rice curries (1,600JPY), beef steak (2,150JPY), Omurice (1,700JPY) and more. They also have a seasonal menu that is worth checking.
Shin Uguisu-tei is a tea shop that serves tea, kakigori and Japanese sweets like dango. A dango is a Japanese dumpling made from rice flour. You can get 3 dangos for 600JPY, kakigori for 600JPY and green tea for 700 JPY. While you enjoy your tea and something sweet you can relax and take in the sakura view from inside the store.
