If you have a chance to visit Osaka, we recommend trying the famous Kushikatsu. Kushikatsu is considered “Osaka fast food” that you can eat easily with friends that is not only delicious but affordable. Kushikatsu is not like typical fast food, instead of burgers and fries, kushikatsu are fried skewers with vegetables and meat with special ingredients that you can enjoy individually or with other foods.
This restaurant offers a comfortable atmosphere for a variety of customers with table seats, tatami mats, counter seats and couples’ seats and a reasonably priced menu. They have an all-you-can-drink + Kushikatsu Teppanyaki dinner course that we recommend for 3,500 JPY that comes with assorted kushikatsu with sides grilled beans, caesar salad, Japanese-style omelet, seafood carpaccio, flavored cucumber, ground chicken breast roasted takaki, and special hormone yaki udon. If you would prefer to choose your own Kushikatsu individually or want to order more kushikatsu(in addition to the course), you can choose from the menu, the price ranging from 100 JPY to 200 JPY per Kushikatsu(skewer). It is a 5-10 minute walk from Higashi Umeda Station or JR Osaka station.
This restaurant offers an Izakaya style atmosphere, where you can enjoy a quick meal in the middle of touring around Osaka, or at the end of the day. We recommend the Otegaru Kushikatsu Course with an all-you-can drink course for 2,980 JPY with 6 pieces of Kushikatsu plus Potato salad, Macaroni salad, Dote-yaki, Chicken skin ponzu, Mimiga-with onions, fried chicken and beef soup. In addition, you can order an 8 piece Kushikatsu set for 1,000 JPY. This is about a 1 minute walk from Kitashinchi Station.
This restaurant is a veteran of over 70 years when it comes to kushikatsu starting from an affordable price at 100 JPY per Kushikatsu when ordering individually and an Osaka favorite dish Tonpeiyaki for 480 JPY. We recommend the Kushikatsu + extra dishes for 4,000 JPY that includes 12 assorted kushikatsu, 3 hot plates and salad with an all-you-can drink course.
