Only a few stations away from Tokyo Station is Kudanshita Station, the lesser known part of Tokyo that is not only well-connected, but also deep in its cultural roots. Besides the usual crowd that passes through Kudanshita on the Shinjuku, Hanzomon, and Tozai train lines, Kudanshita gets the most buzz every year in spring. Chidorigafuchi Park can’t be missed for its canal-towering blanket of creamy pink cherry blossoms, while Yasukuni Shrine stands the test of time to pray for peace for the country. If you’re into martial arts, then the Nippon Budokan is a must-see for you, and what a coincidence that we found a great eatery near there too? 
Kudanshita isn’t loaded with eateries as some of its neighboring stations are, but locals have loved Misato Izakaya for their home-y vibe and fresh seafood brought in daily from Tsukiji Fish Market.
Their popular sashimi dishes range from ¥580 to ¥3,000, while other regular izakaya dishes such as nikujaga, chicken skewers, karaage fried chicken, and deep fried tofu are priced at around ¥500 to ¥700. If we were you, we’d go for their much-beloved ¥3,500 7-course dinner -- why wouldn’t you get sashimi, chawanmushi steamed egg, tempura, soba noodles, and fish all in one go?

Misato is open for lunch time between 11:30AM and 1:30PM, and for dinner between 5PM and 11:30PM on Monday to Friday. Saturday is dinner only between 5PM and 10PM, while the restaurant is closed on all Sundays and public holidays.
Quality sushi in Tokyo usually costs a fortune, but in the less-populated neighborhood of Kudanshita, you can actually revel in some fresh and jaw-droppingly cheap seafood on rice. Since 1977, Edogin has offered seasonally fresh sushi, chirashi sashimi-topped rice, and a variety of grilled seafood.
Their bargain lunch menus mainly cater to the white collars in the neighborhood, thus only costing between ¥670 and ¥1,020 including tax. If you’re looking for more filling sushi combos, feel free to choose their more expensive set menus marked between ¥1,760 and ¥2,750. 
Edogin is open for lunch between 11:30AM and 1:30AM on Monday to Saturday, for dinner between 5PM and 9:30PM on Fridays, and 5PM and 8PM on Saturdays. The restaurant is closed on Sundays and all public holidays.
Many people stop by Cafe Miel after strolling in the Chidorigafuchi Park, but most diners love this cafe for its unique antique decor. Before you even enter the cafe, you’ll be greeted by multiple rocking horses and antique clocks, leading you to a world where time has stopped. Expect to be surrounded by ancient photographs, aged wooden chairs, dolls, vintage old lamps, and elegant porcelain tea cups as you decide which lunch menu you fancy.
They have sandwiches (¥450-¥690) and pasta (¥1,280) available for lunch, and a wide range of items available for dinner, such as beef stew (¥980), juicy hamburg steak (¥980), yakisoba (¥800), and mixed pizza (¥900).
