Arrived at 10:30 am, a full hour before they opened for lunch during the week and was the first one in line! At 11:20, some lady came out to take down the number of folks in my party and I was welcomed in right at 11:30, leaving my shoes at the front door.
The restaurant is very traditional and upscale. The interior is all tatami with tons of wood throughout the restaurant. Some of the younger staff are quite talented too!
They have an English menu and started off with the Unagi Egg Omlette which was a tad pricey at 2400 Yen for two pieces. Egg was juicy, flavorful and two pieces was more than plenty!
Moved on to the highlight, Unagi Don for 4300 Yen, and it was decent. Made me realize how off the Unagi from the vacuum sealed packages were! Flavor wasn't overpowering and the fish was delicately grilled! Rice was fluffy and delicious!
The Unagi Liver Soup was decent. Quite clear and non oily.
~7800 Yen per person for lunch. Japanese Yen cash only (no credit cards nor foreign currency)
...Triple check your change as I was shortchanged....Yes in Japan...
