Heavenly wagyu beef and egg rice bowl

Lowkey this is one of the best meals I had in our trip to Tokyo in 2024. Wagyu beef rice bowl! We came 10mins before the opening hour and we were about the 12th in queue. VERY LUCKY cos we were able to get in the first round! Got seated at the bar table and enjoyed a great view of the chefs wrapping the beef slices into roses and paddling the rice into the bowls. We had the wagyu set and the standard beef set. In terms of condiments, you can choose the soy sauce and miso butter, or the horseradish wasabi, shiso and sesame. We tried each of them. The beef broth was warm and flavourful, essential for wintertime. The bowl of rice was absolutely appealing and made me drool! Just look at that egg on top of the beef mountain. It’s so good. The wagyu beef tasted definitely more delicious than the standard beef, with its marbling fat and rich beef taste. The white tartare sauce and the onions/ cabbages on the side serve their purpose, and paired so well with the beef. You can choose the amount of rice to your liking too. We had the medium and it was already very fulfilling for hungry girls like us. 10 out of 10, if you are a beef and rice fanatic just like us! continue reading
