See the Yurakucho AR Planetarium! Amazing Displays and Delicious Lunch Sets
2021-11-19
Konica Minolta is a global brand most recognized for its printing machines, but did you know it also produces planetarium equipment? This branch of Konica Minolta has sold and installed hundreds of planetarium devices around the world to various educational facilities but there are only three company-managed planetarium theaters and they're all located in Tokyo!  Today, we'll look at the Yurakucho theatre, known as Konica Minolta Planetarium Tokyo.

Konica Planetarium Tokyo is located on 9F of Yurakucho Mullion, a building that houses not just the planetarium theatre, but a movie theatre and a department store! There are two "domes" (theatre rooms), the Digital Multi-purpose Theatre (Dome 1) and the Planetarium Fulldome Theatre (Dome 2). Each dome features different shows day to day so be sure to check the schedule for availability! Select shows are available with English audio.

Restaurant Shimantogawa Ginza

Shimantogawa Ginza is an izakaya with a unique interior design that creates an atmosphere as if you are actually dining along a river side. The most popular item is the Katsuwo no Shio Tataki (1,639JPY), sashimi that is only grilled on the outside using a special grilling method using straws. The straw creates a strong flame that can stretch up to 1 meter tall scorching the outside of the fish and traps all the flavor within it. They also have a very popular lunch course called Katsuwo no Tabe Kurabe Gozen (1,500JPY) that comes with both regular sashimi and straw grilled sashimi so you can compare the taste.
