On the 19th of July 2019, the new Q plaza opened in Ikebukuro and quickly became one of the trendier hang out spots among younger people. Simply put, it’s an entertainment building where people can eat, shop, play games, watch movies, or even hit the batting cage. Q plaza is located about 10 minutes from Ikebukuro station east exit. 
Q plaza has many attractions and depending how much time you put in to them. You can spend anywhere from an hour to up to five or more. So here are a few dining recommendations. 
Schmatz
For lunch/dinner go check out Schmatz on the basement floor. This is a “Japanese inspired” German restaurant, found only in Japan. The interior has a lot of space between tables and comfortable seats which makes it a great place to rest. There are two dishes we recommend trying. The first is the “Roasted Pork & Sausage” (¥1300) , a meat-heavy dish served with salad, potatoes and choice between bread or white rice. 
The second dish we recommend is “Chicken Schnitzel Parmigiana” (¥1000). Schnitzel is among the more popular dishes in Germany and it is a meat that was fried after being pounded to get it flatter and softer. This too will come with a small salad, potatoes and choice between bread or white rice. Espresso D Works
If you are looking for a place to have a piece of cake with coffee or tea, then check our EDW ( Espresso D Works) on the second floor. This place has three things that will make you happy, first the service you get from the staff is very friendly, always smiling and they actually look happy to be there for you. The second thing is that part of their kitchen is visually open especially if you sit on the counter. Which means you can watch them make the dessert you ordered. Which brings as to the third point; delicious cakes. 
We recommend ordering the “Ruby Chocolate Berry Tiramisu” (¥680) that comes with sweet dried berries on top and grated white chocolate.
We mentioned before that Q plaza has a lot of attractions that you can check before, between or after your meals. On the 3rd floor there is a game center with different UFO Catchers (Claw machines), racing games, Basketball shooting, and more. On the same floor you will also find a VR center to play with a group of up to 4 players. This will cost about ¥2500 for a 35 minute session. On the 4th floor, there is the grand cinema that offers some movies in 4DX. Even if you are not planning on watching a movie there, go take a peek at the design. Bar Panorama
After checking out all the entertainment options, make your way to the 13th floor. Sit, relax, and grab a drink from the bar while taking in the sky-scaper views.
