Hokkaido is the second largest and the most northern part of Japan's main Islands. Known for its rich nature with mountains, onsens and national parks that are breath-taking throughout the seasons. Winter is especially popular thanks to its ski resorts and the yearly snow festival in February. When it comes to food, Hokkaido is famous for having fresh sea-food, miso broth ramen and delicious meat specifically a grilled mutton dish called “Jingisukan” (ジンギスカン). This time we would like to introduce you to a few restaurants in the capital of Hokkaido, Sapporo!
北海道 海鮮居酒屋 魚人
This is an izakaya where you can enjoy seafood dishes such as sashimi and charcoal-grilled fish using fresh fish delivered directly from the port. Fresh seafood, creamy oysters, crabs, sea urchins, scallops, hot pot dishes, and more! "Picking sweet shrimp" (980 JPY) , which is the popular menu of the restaurant and has become a buzz on instagram, allows you to eat all the shrimp you can grab in one hand!

焼肉ダイニング MEGUMI 南8条店
“MEGUMI'' is a yakiniku restaurant that serves a large variety of meat including Wagyu beef and lamb. The Yakiniku lunch course will start from 1,380JPY, dinner from 2,580JPY(Monday to Thursday limited set)
and a large course with all-you-can-drink from 7,000JPY.
Sakanaya
Sakanaya has it all, from fresh seafood, charcoal grilled yakitori, Jingisukan to local sake. Stand alone dishes like the Jingisukan are around 1,000JPY while Omakase courses with all-you-can-drink will start from 6,500JPY.

Sapporo Ramen Kifu
Kifu is one of Sapporo's popular Ramen restaurants, open every evening until early morning (18:00-5:00/6:00 on Fri-Sat). Their menu includes many hokkaido style ramens such as the “Original miso ramen'' (900 JPY) and the “Sapporo Rich Miso Ramen'' (880 JPY).

Purple Dahlia
Purple Dahlia is a cafe that only opens from 18:00 and split its service into 2 parts. From 18:00-22:00, you have your typical Japan style meal cafe with dishes like Omurice (980 JPY) and Napolitan pasta (960 JPY). But the real attraction is the parfait time from 22:00-01:00 (-24:00 on Sundays and holidays). During this time, you can’t order any meal, instead you have a parfait set with either soft drink (~1,780JPY) or alcohol drink (~1,980 JPY).
