Going to the only restaurant that had any availability, we ordered the 10,000 yen set menu without any expectations.
The first course is shrouded under a smokey cloche. Removing it yields a tender roast beef appetiser infused with chickory smoke.
The following dishes are similarly amazing. A beef tartare with uni; various marbled juicy cuts of beef cooked to tender perfection coupled with fresh wasabi and finger lime; slices of Shabu Shabu beef served with sesame sauce that literally melts in the mouth; egg yolk gyudon that puts everything I’ve had to shame.
This place markets itself as yakiniku, but this is criminally underselling it. This is a beef degustation with the finest Miyazaki beef. Come for dinner and be sure to try one of their set menus.
Sooo good. This will be one we will be adding to the list every time we come back to Tokyo.
The only issue is the slightly confused service. Even though this is in a mitsukoshi, various patrons popped their head in and left confused. The staff are constantly in the back doing prep and sometimes miss potential customers. Make sure you are insistent and get a table. You won’t regret it. This place is amazing!
